Books For The Road - Personal by Lee Child

Pleasure reading. I love a good adventure with mystery and some action and of course good writing. All of that I find in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child and this last one, Personal, was no exception.

Reacher finds himself involved with a plot to assassinate some world leaders at a G8 conference in London. He is engaged by old contacts through his history with the Army. The suspect is someone he put away years ago but is now free and is obviously gunning for him as well.

I loved the London location and could picture quite clearly the places Child took Reacher in his quest to find the suspect. Child's descriptive language gets a bit too much at times with his analysis of how to place a punch or what happens with a bullet fired from any specific gun. I can't imagine the research he does. This time I enjoyed the descriptions of London. Here's one of my favorites:

"Strategically Britain was an aircraft carrier permanently moored off the coast of Europe, and there was plenty of space for flight decks."

Page turner quality. Definitely one that makes my Books For The Road list.
